Reverse Hair Loss By Getting Good Sleep

hair growth

Are you endlessly searching the web to find out how to reverse hair loss? Have you tried all the hair loss remedies on the market without achieving the results you desire?

Interestingly enough, did you know that chronic stress is directly linked to hair loss? As a matter of fact, a study conducted by a Harvard University team found:

“Subjecting mice to mild stress over many weeks increased corticosterone levels and reduced hair growth. Hair follicles remained in an extended resting phase. Together, these findings supported the role of corticosterone in inhibiting hair regrowth.”

I have to tell you, I love science and logical equations. So, here’s the nerd in me speaking… Basically, what this means is:

Chronic Stress = Increased Corticosterone Levels = Reduced Hair Growth

That’s why if you want to reverse hair loss, it’s extremely important to:

  • manage chronic stress
  • get a great night’s rest
  • establish a nighttime sleep ritual

To add to that, here’s another equation you should be aware of: Chronic Stress + Bad Sleep = Hair Loss

Truth is, getting good sleep can be a dream to many (btw, pun intended).

We all know that the human body is able to repair itself when we are asleep. Therefore, when crucial rest is either deprived or disturbed, the body suffers and so does your hair as a result.

Plus, if you’re moving about all night long (and not in the way Lionel Richie sings), then you’re going to add further stress on your hair too.

Which leads me to share three other important logical equations.

  1. Bad Mattress = Bad Sleep
  2. Bad Mattress + Bad Sleep = Chronic Stress = Hair Loss
  3. Bad Mattress + Chronic Stress = Hair Loss

Now, let’s explore how a bad mattress can affect your hair and the importance of sleeping on a great mattress.

How A Bad Mattress Can Stress Out Your Hair

A fantastic way to improve your sleep is to find a great mattress. And these days, you don’t have to pay an arm and a leg for good mattresses.

Today, it’s as simples as buying a bed in a box! (yes, you read that right… a bed in a box)

Truly, sleep time should be taken seriously. To illustrate, just like a baby needs a stable sleeping routine, so do adults.

Something I recently discovered is that you can get superior sleep on a California king mattress as opposed to a normal king mattress. In fact, check out the cal king dimensions for yourself.

Did you know, having enough space in the bed matters? Think about it, the body does not always stay in the same place when sleeping.

Quite often, the body will toss and turn. Because of this, you want to allow your body enough space to be able to do that freely.

Since the cal king is longer, it can be more accommodating and puts less stress on the body.

That’s why one of the best ways to reverse hair loss is to improve your nighttime sleep ritual.

4 Tips To Improve Your Nighttime Sleep Ritual

As a matter of fact, developing a good sleep routine should be at the top of your list. Now, let’s explore five ways you can get better sleep.

  1. Get a comfortable mattress and pillow – Low-quality bedding can cause lower back and joint pain. Studies show that a new, high-quality mattress can reduce back pain and improve your quality of sleep.
  2. Reduce blue light exposure in the evening – Put away your smart phone, computer, and other electronic devices. They emit large amount of blue light which tricks your brain into thinking it’s daytime, and reduces melatonin.
  3. Don’t consume caffeine late in the day – You should stop drinking coffee by midday, like 4 or 5 o’clock. Caffeine remains in your blood for 6 to 8 hours. This stimulates your nervous system and inhibits your body from relaxing at night.
  4. Don’t reach for that glass of wine – Avoid consuming alcoholic beverages before you go to sleep. It’s known to cause hormonal fluctuations, exacerbate symptoms of sleep apnea, and lead to poor sleep patterns.

To conclude, there are many components that go into reversing hair loss. In order to stimulate hair growth, the most important factor is getting good sleep.

Equally important, is managing chronic stress. To achieve this, try relaxation techniques such as reading a book, meditating, listening to relaxing music, or taking a hot bath.

Whatever you do, always place your health and well-being first. And, don’t hesitate to invest in products that enhance your quality of life!
